Can wood borers ruin my gun stock?

My son just brought a borer-infested oak cabinet into my workshop where I keep my gun safe. We’ve fumigated the place, but I'm still a bit paranoid.
My 5YO CZ 527 has a sharp-looking factory wood stock (looks varnished). I’ve never oiled it before, but would applying linseed oil help keep the bugs away?
My son said I'm overthinking, but I’d hate for my CZ to become an insect snack. Any tips on protecting gun stocks from wood-boring beetles?

If it’s varnished, you’re fine, borers won’t touch finished stocks. Keep area dry and monitor for new activity.

 If the finish on the stock is still good, those beetles probably aren't even bothering it anyway. It's usually the raw, unfinished wood you need to worry about more. I'd be more concerned about whatever is in that cabinet spreading to the other wood in the workshop before I'd start stressing about the CZ stock itself.
