The CZ 75 SP-01 is more than 20 years old and still feels perfect

I know we're supposed to be excited about the modern striker-fired stuff and I genuinely am. But I keep coming back to the SP-01 and thinking... this thing is just right.. I know the P-10 series is objectively lighter and more practical for carry. But on the range, for pure enjoyment? I'd take the SP-01 every time. Anyone else feel this way or am I just being nostalgic about a gun that was already old when I got it?

That’s not nostalgia talking. The SP01 has a lower bore axis than most modern pistols and that’s just simple physics working to your advantage, not sentimental attachment.

Not just you. The SP-01 hits that sweet spot of weight, balanc and recoil control that a lot of newer striker guns don’t quite replicate. It may not be the lightest or most modern but it’s hard to argue with how it shoots.

There’s just something about a hammer-fired gun that strikers haven’t quite matched. It’s not about nostalgia, more like a different kind of enjoyment.
